our House

Walking into Merlo on Maple’s historic building, you may feel like you’ve entered a nineteenth-century Chicago residence untouched by time.

Erected in 1884, our quaint building witnessed a city neighborhood that was beginning to flourish around it: high-end shops, lavish hotels, streets like Michigan Avenue that were starting to represent Chicago’s “good life.”

With its serene, curtain-draped nooks and spacious, windowed rooms throughout three levels, our restaurant conduces to both intimate conversations and high-level business events.
