We are pleased to share with you a fresh shipment of winter vegetables directly from Italy. Chef Silvia will be highlighting the crisp and refreshing taste of Radicchio Tardivo and Insalta Ricciolina this week in her daily and weekend specials.
Radicchio Rosso di Treviso is one of the most distinctive Italian vegetables: Wine-red leaves, and bone-white ribs. It’s produced only around Treviso, where the happy combination of abundant water, proper temperatures, and soil allow the farmers to apply the techniques also used to whiten Belgian Endive during the winter months, with memorable results.
Insalata Ricciolina is a seasonal lettuce that grows in Italy during the winter months. This versatile vegetable is delicious in various preparations and adds a crispy and refreshing bite to any dish.
